FINAL REFLECTION

Well today I will talk a little about my progress since first of ESO. I think I learn a lot in this six years, and now, I’m and adult and I’m a little serious and mature I can said that the best thing that help me to learn English is the blog. Few years ago, I critic a lot the blog and the system of teacher do for us to learn English but know I’m a mature person and I’m conscious that the department of English do the best for all of us. I did a reflection this year about what’s the best way to learn English and I think here I talk a little about teachers.

My best post maybe was ‘’Decisions are taken’’ because I use some vocabulary which learn this year and I felt good when I was do it.

Dear Jhony,

I am writting to you because I am worried about my education. That's because some of my teachers didn't organize their classes. They don't know how to put order and they need to be more strict. There are few of them that allow to the students everything and that shouldn't be.

Beside of that, I want to talk about the behaviour of the wrost students. I just want to purpose that you, the director of my school, should put the level of the students in different categories, because I don't want to be with people that they don't want to study.
I hope you will considerate this point and I will wait for an answer.

Yours faithfully,

     Barney Stinson.

Human Right # 2 Don't Discriminate

DON’'T DISCRIMINATE

In this video you can see one of the best examples of discrimination that we see every day in our society… This normally appears when you’re in the school, at breakfast time or in the PE classes with all of your classmates and you’re odd.
On these occasions, according to the video one boy or girl is excluded from the game by the team. Normally the boy or girl who is excluded is a person, who’s a little different from the rest of the group; because she or he has a little difference compared to the rest… Maybe this difference is physical or psychological but from my point of view this isn’t the problem. The problem consist that none of us doesn’t search any solution to fine a solution of it, and the rest of the group aren’t conscious of the feelings that this person feels…

In conclusion, now we have to start to search a solution of that because we can’t permit it. Probably we don't know that one day, one of us can be in this situation and I’m sure that any of us want to stay on this dark side of our world…

My oral presentation

This term like my fellow classmates I did my oral presentation about my research project. For me this presentation wasn’t very difficult because I had a lot of interesting things to explain and more o less I had the content organized. I change my presentation a little compared to the first presentation that I did about my research project, basically because now I did it in English and there are some things, in particular the mathematical calculus that I didn’t explain because they are so difficult to explain in English… However I think the content of my oral presentation was good, and I agree with my mark because I worked a lot on this presentation, and the final result was very good.

Research project: the study of shifting gear

Key words: gear, shifting gears, first gear, axis parallel, axis perpenicular, transmission by chain.

This research project is about the gears and the study of shifting gears. It's divided into a theory and a practice part.

The theory part consists of what the gear is, characteristics of a gear, the transmission of movement about gears, and the mathematical calculs which you have to do to find the characteritics about one particular gear or example the tooth height,, the module... After you can see the different gears that you can search; are divided the situation of its axis if it wa parallel or perpendicular, in special applications and transmission by chain. And the last part of the theory part consisted of what a shifting gear is, which parts it has, what kinds of shifting gears they are and what their characteritics are and the last thing that you can see is the operating to shifting gear which has two axis.

On the other hand the practice part basically consisted of opening an original shifting gear and doing a mathematical study abut it. The purpose of  mathematical study is to calculate the progress of the speed that my car does when you apply the different gears.

Is humour necessary?

I think humour has a lot of meaning in our lives because if humour didn't exist at all, maybe it would be very different. You couldn't laugh with friends and maybe life would be a more pessimistic...
If humour didn't exist we would probably never smile and I think smiling is one of the most beautiful things that we have. A day without laughing for me, is a lost day.
Jokes are necessary in our lives, becausejokes always bring a smile to a person. On the other hand, humours it an office, in our world are some people that live thanks to humour.

For this reason I think humour is necessary for our lives, because if humour dind't exist we would be very different and life would have no meaning.

EMAIL

Hello teacher,
I'm Pau Mostazo your student of 2nd batxillerat.

Now I will talk a little about my life. First of all I will write a little about the short-term goals that I have, for example I want to get the basic certificate of English (PET). I will do this, because I think that it's very important for the future employment. Another objective that I have is to take part in the forest campaign in April, because in the future I will be a fireman and if I do this I have more possibilities to become a fireman...Well I don't have any life dreams, probably only to be a fireman. I watch this for a dream, because now in our society it's very difficult to pass the oppositions and achieve this.

Respect the video that we saw last Friday in class, I will comment that for me it was spectacular. I love the way that Obama talks. I like a lot of sentences that he says for example ''commit to a goal'', because if you fight to get a goal finally you can achieve it. Moreover for me the way that he speaks is an example to follow.

Well, that's all. See you.

Laia: Willy, what the hell have you been doing this morning? It's three o'clock and the flat it's a total disaster.

Willy: Quiet, quiet...It's early...The owners of the flat don't come until 6 o'clock. I have plenty of time...

Laia: What kind of shit are you saying? We don't have enough time, we are late.

Willy: Laia please, trust me! We have time... Besides the owners of the flat ever come early!

Laia: I'm very disappointed with you Willy, I hope you know what you are doing. If we lose the flat I will never want to be your roommate again.

Willy: Okey, okey...You should be more trust in me. At six is all neat and tidy, don't worry.

Laia: You have failed many times Willy...that comes naturally don't trust you.

Willy: Remember that I have never failed you in serious matters. Go to univerity if not you'll be late. Don't worry they won't kick us out of the flat.

Laia: Okey Willy...Please, don't fail me!

(William falls asleep as Laia goes out. They lost the flat as Laia expected. Now, LAia is in a flat with some friends of hers and Willy has to live alone because nobody wants to live with him.)

CASTELLÓ D'EMPÚRIES

I decided to describe my village because I think the village where I live is a very beautiful place and I can write a lot about Castelló because I have been living there for sixteen years.

This village is a region of Alt Empordà. Castelló has a big urbanization which has more inhabitants than the village, Empuriabrava. In Empuriabrava there are approximately eight thousand inhabitants, double than Castelló. But Castelló and Empuriabrava united are one village, approximately twelve thousand inhabitants.

This village has a lot of beautiful places, for example the Basiclica (Santa Maria), the medieval prison, the museum Farinera, the biggest wind tunnel in Europe, an airport with the biggest parachute jumping in the world...

In conclusion Castelló is a nice village, the order of the streets, the shape of the streets, the structure of our houses, good people and I think you would have to go a long way to find anywhere like here.

My brother

Audio and voice recording >>

David Mostazo is my only brother and he is the eldest. He's a bit taller than me, brown-eyed and he's got brown hair. He's my brother and at the same time is a great friend of mine.

David is a strong-willed person who always fulfills his goals. He's very shy when he doesn't know you, but when he gets self-confident he's a very sociable and really chatty person. He likes to have fun. He likes playing the playstation, playing handball...

David always helps me when I need it. For this, I love my brother so much because for me he's a fantastic person.

Are computers better than books to learn?

Now I will write about what's better for people to learn, books or computers.

Well, the traditional way to learn is a book. A few years ago people used books and the results were positive, because, people learnt and got a degree on medicine or other dgrees for example technology, economy... However it has a problem, it weigh a lot...

On the other hand computers are the new project of the future and it can be an excellent way to learn, but the results are negative. There are a lot of problems and it's so difficult to make good classes, because there is always a computer which doesn't work... It weighs very little and this is a good point, but there are more points negatives than positives...

From my point of view, books are better than computers. Because books never have problems and the computers have a lot of problems, for example, it can have a virus or more technical problems...And another big problem was the internet connection, it never works... Finally, I can also say books are better than computers.

My clothes and me

Now I will write about clothes that I wear in a normal day, in a special day and finally clothes that I don't like wearing.

First of all I'll explain what clothes I like to wear in a current day. I usually wear a simple boodie, a basic t-shirt, socks, an underwear and a pair of jeans. Normally I never use any accessories.

On the other hand I'll explain clothes that I wear in a special day. I usually wear an elegant shirt, a special underware, socks and smart trousers.

Finally I will write about clothes that I don't like to wear, for example: a tuxedo, a tie, a boy tie. I hate long t-shirts and tracksuits.

FASHION TEST

Office Master
42% Flamboyance, 40% Originality, 48% Deliberateness, 36% Sexiness
[Tasteful Conventional Deliberate Prissy]
Your style is professional. Your clothes always fit the situation and you probably never offend people by, say, wearing pink to a funeral. You just know what becomes. You don't like extravagance too much and you're not accidental. Your well chosen, stylish outfits communicate that you're a serious person. Following classic rules about dressing, you make sure that no one would call you flashy and many people admire your calm, composed look.

According to the test I have a formal style, and I always fit the situation. I do it because for me it’s important that people have a good picture of me. Test says I’m a serious person but I don’t agree with that, probably I dressed with a formal clothes but I’m not a serious person because I like to do fun things. I like the last sentence of the results, concretely the two last words, composed look because this is a real true of me.

Dear Lluisa,

This last few days I have been watching the school and I think there are some things to improve. In this letter you can see some proposals on how to improve the centre.

First of alla the classes, the classes are too small and my classmates and I don't have enough space, it's a bit difficult to concentrate when we work because we are a bit stressed.
Another thing that I would like to mention is the gymnastic classes; we don't have enough time to take advantage of the hour, because we lose twenty minutes more o less every day to change clothes. The last thing that I would like to mention is that I think it's necessary to find a solution for the internet, because when we use it, it never works well and we lose a lot of time waiting for the connection to be right.

In conclusion I think it isn't a bad school but if we repaires these details better, maybe the level of the school would increase considerablky.

Yours sincerely,

Pau Mostazo

ORAL PRESENTATION

Good morning!
Today I want to talk about all my life. I think my life is interesting because I do a lot of activities, I think you would like it.
The first thing that I’m going to tell you is where I was born, where I live (now) and who I live with. Then I will talk about my brother, after, my studies and my tittles. Then my sportive career. In the fourth part of my work I will explain my hobbies. And finally I will talk about things which I would like to change if I could go back in time.
Diapositiva 1. Where I was born…
Well, I was born in Castelló d’Empúries a little village in Girona (Catalunya). I live in a small house in Castelló d’Empúries and I live with my mum, my dad, my dog Perla and my brother.
Diapopositiva 2. David Mostazo
Now I talk about my brother, I decide it because he marked my life a little.
My brother is David Mostazo and he’s nineteen years old.  David is a person of medium hight, he has brown hair and brown eyes and now is a bid strong.
He has more studies than me because he has already done the batxillerat and I haven’t.  Now he is studying accountancy and finances at the university in Girona, at the moment his studies were correct but I think that it is because he only does three hours a day and he has a lot of time t study.
In conclusion, my brother is a good person (I think), and sometimes I’m proud to be his brother.
Diapositiva 3. My studies and my tittles
I started my studies at the primary school Ruiz Amado, I spent nine years of my life there. Then I went in the secondary school and I spent there four years of my life. So that I’m in the first of batxillerat and I’m going well because I passed all my subjects easily. But when I was doing my fourth year of Secundary School I passed a handball trainers exam and a fist aid exam. In conclusion now I have a primary school certificate, secondary school certificate, my handball trainers tittle and my first aid tittle.
Diapositive 4. My sportive career.
This was a part of my life that I love so much, I’m proud of my sportive career.
Well, my sportive career started when I was young, when I was ten years old in the small club of handball in Castelló the name of the team was Esplais. In my first year of competicion I learnt a lot. One year after I had a great opportunity, I had a meeting with a Seleccion of Girona and I one spot in the team and I went to some championships which were held in Tarragona. The next year I had the same experience but this time I had a trial with the Seleccion of Catalunya but fore a shame I didn’t finish the last training for the championship. For me it was a pity but at the time a great experience and I learnt a lot from that.
The next year I have a letter to go to Girona and I accepted that, so now I’m playing in Girona in the top league.
If a could back in time…
One thing that I would change If I could go back in time would be to start studyng harder a few years earlier, because now I’m conscient that if I had started to study harder in the secondary school surely now everything would be easier.

And that’s my presentation, In conclusion I defined myself as a person who likes to overcome his limitacions.

SELF EVALUATION

I don’t watch all my video because I have technical problems with the recording.

Presentation

In my presentation I used a power point to help me, and I think the power point help me a lot. In the presentation I put the different points that l would explain and some images. This helped me a lot to call the public attention.

Body language and eye contact

Well I think my body language was correct because when I was doing the presentation I saw that my classmates were listening to me and I think that he, understood me because they were very alert to me.
When I was doing it I saw the back of the class because when I did it, thought I was watching them but I wasn’t and in that way I didn’t get nervous.

Structure

I organized my presentation a little chronologically. I think that my structure was correct because I think more than half of my classmates understood my presentation.
Content
I think that the content was good, I think that I choose the correct information and the results were good, because I thought my presentation wasn't too boring.

Language and Grammar

I think that the language and grammar was good because I prepared it days ago the presentation and I reviewed the grammar a lot.

Pronunciation and intonation

I think my pronunciation was good, clear and I had fluency. The intonation I think it can improve but I think it’s passable.

FAIRY TALE

Once upon a time there was a man with money problems. He had no money and he had a family. He had recently divorced his wife and he could not pay the bank for his house.

He was very desperate and went for a wals in the woods. There he met a leprechaun, he was talking to the little man, and explained the sitation he was in...

The leprechaun said he could help by gibing a bag of gold coins in exchange for one thing, he had to ask his wife to forgive him, before morning. The man went home cinfused by what just happened in the forest, he apologized to his wife, she accepted and they lived together again.

The day after the man went to the forest and found the bag of gold coins as the leprechaun had promised the day before.

With the gold coins the man paid the bank and lived happily ever after with his wife.

THIRTEEN & ADRIAN MOLE

Adrian Mole's book and the film thirteen are two clear examples of teenage years.
One thing similar was that in the book and in the film one person let's another down. In Adrian Mole, Nigel let's Adrian down, and in the fil Thirteen Tracy let's her real friends down.

A difference was the ones who try to change their lives. In the film thirteen, the character search to have the same life style as the most popular girl en her school has, because she wants to become a popular person. And in the book Adrian Mole, Adrian is a boy who only writes a personal diary and writes about his feelings. He's a boy who wants to have a good life.
